Boston University's men's soccer team improved to 4-0 in the Patriot League with a 2-1 win at Loyola Maryland on Saturday, Oct. 3.

Ben Bagshaw scored his first BU goal and assisted on the second, helping the Terriers turn a scoreless first half into a two-goal advantage. BU improved to 5-2-3 overall.

Bagshaw opened the scoring at 50:12, with assists from Ryan Ghajar and Mateo Turletti. Andrea Di Blasio doubled the lead at 60:34, assisted by Bagshaw and Pharis Petrica. Di Blasio has scored in five consecutive matches and now has six goals this season.

Loyola cut the deficit at 71:11 when Tyler Flynn scored from a free-kick sequence, with Jeremiah McGuire and Jack Endacott receiving assists. BU protected the one-goal lead for the remaining 19 minutes.

The Terriers won despite putting only two shots on target, converting both. Loyola had four shots on goal and a 13-10 advantage in total shots. BU goalkeeper Ben Alexander made three saves, all in the first half, to keep the match scoreless before the Terriers' goals.

The distribution of shots shifted after halftime. Loyola outshot BU 8-3 in the first half; the Terriers held a 7-5 edge in the second. Bagshaw finished with four attempts.

Loyola also earned seven corner kicks to BU's three, including three after halftime. None of BU's corners came in the second half, when it scored both goals.

The Terriers continue their conference road schedule at Colgate on Friday, Oct. 9. Kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m., with coverage on ESPN+.
