Forms
Unconfigured preview forms validate entries without sending them. When a delivery service is configured, forms forward the entered details to that service. Private entries are not added to browser logs or analytics. Delivery providers, retention periods, and contact details must be disclosed before launch. Do not use the tip form for information requiring a confidential channel.
Cookies and measurement
When measurement is enabled, Six State Signal uses PostHog to count public page views and recognize returning browsers through a randomly assigned identifier stored in your browser. Anonymous visitor profiles are enabled. Public page addresses include query strings. Links containing preview tokens are excluded. Search, newsletter, tip, correction, and draft preview pages are excluded from measurement. Session recordings and automatic interaction tracking are disabled. Measurement respects browser Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals. Draft previews use temporary cookies to authorize access to unpublished content. Exiting preview removes these cookies.
Your measurement preference
This preference lasts one year. Clearing cookies removes it. Set it separately in each browser or device you use.
Embedded media
Published articles may include media from external providers. Loading that media connects your browser to the provider, which may apply its own privacy practices.
Before public launch
The final policy must identify the site operator, hosting and form providers, retention periods, reader rights, applicable jurisdictions, and a privacy contact. Those details are not yet available.
