Providence Community Electricity's standard supply rate will be 16.929 cents per kilowatt-hour for the six months beginning with November meter readings and ending with April 2027 readings.

The cityannounced the winter rates Oct. 1. Customers already enrolled do not need to take action to remain in the program.

The basic option will cost 16.705 cents per kilowatt-hour. Options with 50% and 100% renewable electricity will cost 17.108 cents and 19.344 cents, respectively.

Those prices cover electricity supply. Delivery charges and other bill items are separate, so the posted rate is not the total cost of electricity service.

The city compares its standard rate with Rhode Island Energy's residential last-resort supply rate of 17.029 cents per kilowatt-hour for Oct. 1 through March 31. The two rate periods do not align exactly.

Participants may change options or leave without a fee. The city lists NextEra Energy Services at 888-387-1084 for program assistance.
