Visitors planning to drive Acadia National Park's Cadillac Summit Road this weekend need a vehicle reservation through Sunday, Oct. 25, the final day of the park's 2026 reservation season.
The National Park Service charges $6 per vehicle reservation, separate from the park entrance pass. Reservations are sold online through Recreation.gov, rather than at the park.
The park releases 70% of reservations at 10 a.m. Eastern two days before a visit, with the other 30% released 90 days ahead. The remaining reservations for Sunday, Oct. 25, are scheduled for release at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 23. Availability can change as tickets are purchased or canceled.
Daytime reservations have a 30-minute entry window. Sunrise reservations have a 90-minute window, with the sunrise entry period listed as 6-7:30 a.m. for Oct. 16-25. The road closes to vehicles at 9 p.m., and a reservation does not permit reentry.
Download the reservation's confirmation code before arriving because cellular service can be unreliable. Recreational vehicles, vehicles longer than 21 feet including attachments, and vehicles with trailers are prohibited.
Check the park's current alerts and road conditions before traveling.
