Work on Interstate 95 at Broadway in Bangor is scheduled for Oct. 16-19 as crews move southbound traffic onto the new permanent bridge at Exit 185, the Maine Department of Transportation announced Oct. 9.

Crews will rebuild roadway edges and replace pavement in stages. Milling removes the old road surface before new pavement is laid. Southbound traffic will first be limited to one lane on the temporary bridge while the left, or passing, lane is closed for that work. The passing lane will then open on the new bridge while the other southbound lane and exit ramp close for work.

The exit ramp is scheduled to reopen before work at the southern end. The entrance ramp may close during that stage. Both southbound lanes and ramps are to reopen at the end of the sequence.

During the exit ramp closure, drivers should use Exit 186 and follow signs along Stillwater Avenue to Broadway. During an entrance ramp closure, signs will direct traffic from Broadway to Stillwater Avenue and Exit 186.
