The Connecticut Garlic & Harvest Festival is scheduled for Oct. 10-11 at the Bethlehem Fairgrounds, with cooking demonstrations, growers and specialty-food vendors.
The organizer's visitor information lists hours of 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. The fairgrounds are at 304 Main St. North on Route 61 in Bethlehem.
Admission is $10 for adults and $1 for children under 12. The gate accepts cash only. Dogs are not permitted except service dogs.
The demonstration schedule includes pierogi-making with Mira Alicki at 10:30 a.m. both days and garlic confit guacamole with Nicola Poplin at 11:30 a.m. Growers will also discuss cultivating garlic, and a black-garlic presentation is scheduled each afternoon.
Forgotten by Friday performs Saturday from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m.; CT Groove takes that slot Sunday. The festival also lists pony rides, a petting area and bounce activities for children.
