Boston University senior guard Kyrone Alexander was named to the preseason All-Patriot League team on Oct. 1 after an injury limited him to one appearance last season.

The league's coaches picked BU tied with Colgate for third place. Each team received 61 points, behind American's 81 and Lehigh's 72. American collected nine first-place votes; defending tournament champion Lehigh received the remaining vote.

Alexander suffered a season-ending injury in the 2025-26 opener at Northeastern after playing 12 minutes, according to his university biography. This is his second consecutive preseason all-conference selection.

His last full season, in 2024-25, ended with second-team All-Patriot League honors. He started all 30 games in which he appeared and led BU in scoring and rebounding, averaging 12.9 points and 5.1 rebounds.

Alexander scored at least 20 points six times that season. His career-high 26 came against UAlbany, when he made four 3-pointers. He also recorded his first two college double-doubles, including 21 points and 10 rebounds at Lehigh.

The Bridgetown, Barbados, native had started all 33 games as a freshman in 2023-24, averaging 9.3 points and 4.2 rebounds. He received five league rookie-of-the-week awards and a place on the conference's all-rookie team.

Coach Joe Jones enters his 16th season at BU with seven newcomers. Returning players include Azmar Abdullah and Sam Hughes; Hughes averaged nine points last season, according to the university's preseason announcement.

The Terriers' first scheduled game is against Northeastern at Case Gym on Nov. 2. The university had not announced a start time in its Oct. 1 release.
