Brown's women's golf team finished second at the Sacred Heart University Women's Fall Classic in Milford, Connecticut, on Sept. 29 after shooting the lowest final-round score in the eight-team field.

The Bears closed with a 307 at Great River Golf Club, improving on opening rounds of 316 and 313. Their three-round total of 936 placed them behind host Sacred Heart, which finished at 923, and six strokes ahead of Fairfield's 942.

Miya Wu led Brown individually, tying for fourth at 14 over par. Her rounds were 74, 83 and 75. Varsha Ramachandran finished ninth at 17 over after following a 79 with consecutive rounds of 77.

Angela Cai placed 14th and shot her best round of the tournament, a 76, on the final day. Claire Zhong tied for 18th, while Kendace Lee tied for 23rd. Brown's final team round was five strokes lower than Sacred Heart's closing 312.

The result followed a shorter tournament at Princeton the previous week. Rain reduced that event to 36 holes, and Brown finished 12th in the team standings with a total of 648. Wu, a sophomore captain, again led the Bears, posting rounds of 77 and 77 to tie for 25th individually.

Cai had been Brown's next finisher at Princeton, tying for 38th with rounds of 76 and 81. Ramachandran tied for 64th there before her top-10 finish in Milford.

Brown's next scheduled competition is the UAlbany Doc Sauers Invitational on Oct. 11 and 12 at Normanside Country Club in Delmar, New York.
