Connecticut recorded 231,577 in-person early votes through Monday, Oct. 26, according to figures the secretary of the state's office released Oct. 27.
The state also reported 38,537 returned absentee ballots, bringing the combined total to 270,114. The early-voting count rose by 31,717 on Oct. 26.
The figures are preliminary. Towns report on different schedules, and verification can change the totals. They measure participation, not election results or which candidates voters chose.
Among people who voted early, 120,301 were registered Democrats, 41,291 Republicans, 67,033 unaffiliated and 2,952 in other parties. Party registration does not establish how someone voted.
West Hartford had the most recorded early votes, at 5,191, followed by Norwalk with 4,653 and Milford with 4,540.
