Maine residents can enroll in 2027 health coverage through CoverME.gov beginning Nov. 1, with the marketplace warning that Mending Health will no longer offer plans there starting Jan. 1.
Existing Mending coverage remains in effect through the end of 2026, according to the state marketplace's current notice. Open enrollment runs through Jan. 15, 2027, and residents can preview next year's plans now.
The marketplace's financial assistance guidance says federal tax credits that lower monthly premiums remain available to eligible households. An expansion of those credits expired at the end of 2025. Savings depend on household income and other eligibility rules.
People who need coverage before the new year may qualify for a special enrollment period after a qualifying life event. The usual enrollment window is 60 days after that event. CoverME also has a 90-day enrollment opportunity for people who recently lost MaineCare and lack another source of coverage.
The Consumer Assistance Center can explain eligibility and enrollment options at 1-866-636-0355, with TTY service through 711. The marketplace lists regular phone hours as Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
