Fairfield's Halloween on the Green returns Sunday, Oct. 25, with free family activities on the Museum Commons and a change to the usual approach by car.

The event runs from noon to 4 p.m. at the Fairfield Museum, 370 Beach Road. The museum's Beach Road entrance will be closed. Organizers direct drivers to town parking lots reached from Old Post and Beach roads, with street parking also listed on Old Post, Beach and Penfield roads.

The museum, the Town of Fairfield and Fairfield Community Services are presenting the tenth annual gathering. The announced program includes trick-or-treating, giveaways, historic-building displays and a bounce house. Food vendors will also be on site.

The free event has no replacement date if weather intervenes. Organizers say it will be canceled in inclement weather rather than postponed.

Families should check the museum's event page before leaving home, particularly if rain is forecast. The page carries the current schedule and any weather-related updates.
