Children can try practical trades and crafts at SPARK Kent on Saturday, Oct. 24, a free day of demonstrations and hands-on work co-hosted by TradesUp and the Eric Sloane Museum.
The event runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 31 Kent Cornwall Road. It is open to all ages, with activities aimed particularly at children ages 5 to 13. Parents or guardians must register themselves and every child attending.
TradesUp says participating professionals will teach tasks such as using a hammer, patching drywall and wiring a lamp through supervised activities. The event is intended to give young visitors experience making and solving problems with their hands.
The museum's 2026 calendar confirms free admission for the program. TradesUp says it will take place rain or shine.
Families should use the organizer's registration page to check current availability and sign up before traveling. A donation option appears in the registration form, but general admission is listed as free.
