Great Maine Apple Day is scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 25, from noon to 4 p.m. at the Common Ground Education Center in Unity.
The Maine Organic Farmers and Gardeners Association lists the event as admission by donation, with activities both inside and outdoors. The center is at 294 Crosby Brook Road.
Visitors can sample heritage apple varieties, see fruit displays and talk with the association's apple-identification team about unfamiliar apples. Planned activities include cider pressing, apple art, butter churning and fruit-tree workshops.
The association also lists a guided visit to the Maine Heritage Orchard and local food vendors. Its event page provides the current program and a form for people who want to indicate they are coming.
