Hancock County is accepting applications for approximately $250,000 in opioid settlement grants to support prevention, harm reduction, treatment and recovery services for county residents.
The county advisory committee's page lists an Oct. 23 application deadline for the 2026-27 round. The page, the application packet and checklist all say applications must be received by 4 p.m.
The packet anticipates announcing selections by Dec. 1, with funded work running from Jan. 1 through Dec. 31, 2027.
Eligible applicants include Maine-based public and private organizations, nonprofits, businesses, educational institutions, faith organizations and tribes, provided they serve people in Hancock County and direct all grant-funded activities to county residents. Organizations may also serve people elsewhere.
Priorities include housing after treatment or incarceration, transportation for recovery services, youth prevention and support for families. The application caps indirect costs at 10% and requires quarterly reporting.
Applications can be emailed to admin.assistant@hancockcountymaine.gov or delivered to Suite 7 at 50 State St. in Ellsworth. The county lists County Administrator Michael Crooker as a contact for questions.
