Former Dartmouth women's hockey coach Judy Parish Oberting will be inducted into the New Hampshire Legends of Hockey Hall of Fame on Nov. 1, recognizing a career that included two Frozen Four appearances.
Dartmouth highlighted the upcoming ceremony in an Oct. 1 announcement. The Hall of Fame organization had announced its 2026 class on June 9, naming Oberting in the coach category.
Oberting, a 1991 Dartmouth graduate, led the program from 1998 through 2003. Her teams went 114-40-8, giving her a .728 winning percentage that remains the highest among Dartmouth women's hockey head coaches.
The Big Green won two ECAC regular-season championships, two ECAC tournament titles and two Ivy League championships during her tenure. Dartmouth reached the Frozen Four twice and finished her final season, 2002-03, with a 27-8 record. The 27 victories remain the program's single-season record.
The Hall of Fame's account credits Oberting with four consecutive 20-win seasons. Dartmouth's ECAC tournament championships came in 2001 and 2003, and its Ivy League titles came in 2001 and 2002.
Her coaching honors included national coach of the year for 1999-2000 and the American Hockey Coaches Association's Founders Award in 2003.
Before coaching, Oberting was one of Dartmouth's leading scorers. She finished her playing career with 89 goals and 126 assists for 215 points, the second-highest career total in program history. During her senior season in 1990-91, Dartmouth finished 19-7 and went 10-0 in Ivy League play to win the league championship.
The 2026 Hall of Fame class also includes coaches Martin J. Myers and Sean Tremblay. Joe Andrews will be inducted as an official, and Sandy Smith will be recognized in the media category.
The ceremony will also honor Dover High School's hockey history, which the Hall of Fame organization dates to the 1935-36 season. For Oberting, the induction adds a New Hampshire honor to a Dartmouth career spanning both the school's scoring records and its most successful coaching seasons.
