Maine transportation officials opened an online public comment period Oct. 14 for a proposed replacement of the large culvert on Hinckley Road in Clinton.

A culvert is a structure that carries water beneath a road. The Maine Department of Transportation says the project's purpose is to replace the existing crossing.

Residents can watch the project presentation on demand through Oct. 30 and submit comments or questions online. Department staff will answer questions submitted through that process, according to the meeting notice.

This is an on-demand presentation, so residents do not need to attend at a particular hour. The department's public meetings page lists active presentations, and its public involvement page explains how to request accessibility accommodations.

Questions can also go to senior project manager Tim Pelotte at 207-624-8223 or Timothy.Pelotte@maine.gov. The project's identification number is 028374.00.
