Maine's PFAS Fund Advisory Committee will discuss recommendations from its Health and Wellness Advisory Panel at an online meeting Oct. 29, according to the state's published agenda.

The meeting is scheduled for 9 to 10 a.m. on Zoom. The agenda sets aside 40 minutes for an overview and discussion of the panel's recommendations, followed by fund updates and 10 minutes for public comments.

PFAS is short for per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances, a large group of manufactured chemicals. The committee is part of the state's Fund to Address PFAS Contamination, housed in the Department of Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry.

The agenda establishes a discussion, rather than a decision adopting specific health services or financial benefits. It does not set out the substance of each recommendation.

Residents can find the Zoom link and a linked presentation on the state meeting notice. The listed contact for meeting information is Beth Valentine at PFASFund.DACF@maine.gov.
