Massachusetts opened Health Connector enrollment for 2027 on Oct. 23 and plans to spend $620 million in state support to help keep coverage affordable after enhanced federal insurance tax credits expired.
Residents must enroll by Dec. 23 for coverage beginning Jan. 1. The enrollment period continues through Jan. 23, with coverage beginning Feb. 1 for people enrolling by that later deadline, according to the state announcement.
The Health Connector is the state's health-insurance marketplace, where residents can compare plans and find out whether they qualify for financial help. ConnectorCare provides additional assistance with premiums and medical costs for eligible members.
The administration says approximately 279,000 ConnectorCare customers will see little or no premium increase in 2027 because of the state funding. That is a program estimate, rather than a guarantee that every resident's monthly bill or plan will stay the same.
The $620 million investment follows $600 million in state ConnectorCare funding for 2026. The administration says the money comes from the Commonwealth Care Trust Fund.
Both new applicants and current members should review their options. The state urges returning members to update household and income information so their assistance reflects their circumstances.
Free enrollment help is available through Navigator organizations at 50 locations, with support in 29 languages, the state said. Residents can visit MAhealthconnector.org or call 1-877-623-6765. TTY users can dial 711.
