The National Association of Black Storytellers will hold its 44th annual festival and conference Nov. 4-8 at the Crowne Plaza in Warwick.

The gathering includes performances, workshops and youth activities focused on African and African American storytelling. The host hotel is at 801 Greenwich Ave., according to the organizer's festival page.

The event is in Warwick, despite use of the Providence-Warwick regional name in some listings. Visitors should use the host-hotel address when planning travel.

The association posts on-site registration fees on its festival page. Visitors should check the organizer's current details and availability before going.

The theme is Unbreakable Spirit: Telling Our Story, 250 Years and Beyond. The organization also describes an Adopt-a-Teller program that brings storytellers into community settings, including schools, libraries and senior centers, during festival week. The organizer says the program also includes a free public community concert.

NABS was founded by Mary Carter Smith and Linda Goss. Its current website provides festival registration links. Festival media questions can go to questions@nabsinc.org.
