The Foundation for Healthy Communities anticipates awarding about $17.5 million in a grant round for hospital projects serving rural New Hampshire, according to its published application materials.
The initial priority deadline is Nov. 12 at 5 p.m. Eastern. The foundation's program page says the application portal is expected to open in late October; applicants should check that page for the live submission link.
The funding is part of GO-NORTH, New Hampshire's federally funded rural health program. The hospital round focuses on access to care, technology and financial sustainability.
Eligible applicants include New Hampshire critical access, acute care and specialty hospitals, along with qualifying partners. Urban hospitals can propose projects primarily benefiting rural patients. Applicants must show how a project directly serves rural New Hampshire; an organization's location alone does not establish eligibility.
The materials allow projects at different stages, from development and planning to programs ready to operate. Standalone emergency departments are ineligible, and the money cannot be used for lobbying or clinical research trials.
The foundation expects initial awards in mid-December. The first grant period runs through Sept. 30, 2027; continuation depends on further authorization and performance. Applications after the priority deadline may be considered while funding remains.
Questions about the hospital round can go to GO-NORTH-FHC@healthynh.org. The published application document provides the full eligibility tests, required attachments and evaluation criteria.
