Commercial fishermen can handle several annual licensing tasks at one Dover event Dec. 11, when New Hampshire agencies will offer fishing licenses, mooring and pier-use permits, and vessel registrations at the same location.
The event runs from 9 a.m. to noon at the Dover DMV office, 50 Boston Harbor Road, according to the Fish and Game Department's Oct. 26 announcement. The department is working with the Division of Motor Vehicles and the Pease Development Authority's Division of Ports and Harbors.
Payment rules differ. Fish and Game commercial licenses and port permits require a check or exact cash. DMV will accept cash, checks and Mastercard, Visa or American Express for vessel registrations.
Applicants should bring completed, updated license forms. A commercial license with reporting requirements will not be issued when the applicant's reports are overdue. For vessel registration, bring the renewal notice if it has arrived; otherwise, bring the current registration and valid identification.
Fish and Game also says people who did not participate in the April 2026 trap cleanup need to include the applicable derelict-gear surcharge for lobster, crab, lobster helper or commercial saltwater licenses. Staff will have a list of people exempt from the surcharge.
Because the event lasts only three hours, the department asks prospective attendees to identify the licenses they intend to buy by contacting its Region 3 office at Reg3@wildlife.nh.gov or 603-868-1095. A weather cancellation decision will be made by 4 p.m. the day before, with any cancellation posted at wildlife.nh.gov.
