NHPR and the Granite State News Collaborative have canceled the U.S. Senate candidate forum scheduled for Oct. 29 at Howe Library in Hanover.
In an Oct. 22 notice about its own event, NHPR said a spokesman for Republican John Sununu's campaign told the station he would not attend because of the campaign's schedule. The organizer said Democratic candidate Chris Pappas had confirmed his attendance the previous month.
The cancellation supersedes the original forum announcement, which listed a 6 p.m. event in the library's Mayer Room and a radio broadcast the following day.
Voters can still find the candidates' earlier NHPR interviews through the station's election coverage. The cancellation notice says both candidates sat for in-studio NHPR interviews earlier this month.
