Penobscot Marine Museum will tell stories of people lost at sea through actors at its Twilight Tours on Saturday, Oct. 24, with a seated, wheelchair-accessible presentation available before the walking program.
The seated version begins at 3 p.m. Instead of visitors moving between storytellers, the actors rotate through one room. Walking tours begin at 4 p.m. and depart every 10 minutes during an event listed through 6 p.m.
The program takes place inside the historic Merithew House in Searsport. Volunteer actors stationed upstairs and downstairs portray figures from maritime history, with stories involving shipwrecks, disease and other dangers at sea.
The museum lists admission at $10 at the door or $8 with advance registration. Walk-ins are welcome, though preregistration is encouraged.
The event listing gives the museum venue as 2 Church St. Visitors who need help choosing between the formats can contact education director Jeana Ganskop at jganskop@pmm-maine.org.
