Lucy Zich scored twice as UConn's field hockey team beat No. 14 Liberty 3-2 in Storrs on Sept. 25, improving to 7-1 overall and 2-0 in Big East play.

Liberty led after Alexia Guedouar scored 5:35 into the game. UConn answered with two goals in the second quarter and another in the third, building a 3-1 lead before the visitors scored with 40 seconds remaining.

Reiche converted a penalty stroke at 19:36 to tie the game. Zich put UConn ahead at 26:26 on an assist from Olivia McKenna, then added the eventual winning goal at 36:37. Milou Heuker and Charlotte Ritter assisted on her second score.

The teams each took eight shots. UConn put five on target, compared with four for Liberty, and goalkeeper Natalie McKenna made two saves. Zich accounted for five of the Huskies' shots and three of their attempts on goal.

The win followed UConn's Sept. 18 victory over Villanova and its Sept. 20 shootout victory against Princeton. Those games were also played in Storrs. The Huskies' scheduled Sept. 27 matchup with Northeastern was canceled, according to the university's schedule page.

UConn is scheduled to visit Providence on Oct. 2 for a 3 p.m. conference game, then return to Storrs to face Massachusetts on Oct. 4 at 1 p.m. Its next home Big East game is against Temple on Oct. 9 at 3 p.m.
