The University of New Hampshire welcomed 3,000 new students across its Durham and Manchester campuses this fall, a 4.9% increase in its incoming class from 2025.
The growth does not mean total undergraduate enrollment increased. UNH said in its Oct. 12 announcement that overall undergraduate enrollment remains below last year's level after a large class graduated in spring 2026.
First-year undergraduate enrollment at the two campuses rose 3.5%, while transfer enrollment increased 11.2%. The university said the incoming students came from 40 states and 25 countries.
UNH reported awarding a record $40 million in financial aid to incoming students, with 96% of the entering class receiving aid. It also reported an average incoming high school grade point average of 3.7.
