Winooski's Halloween celebrations begin Sunday, Oct. 25, with a themed farmers market from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 20 Winooski Falls Way.
Downtown Winooski lists pumpkin painting, a scavenger hunt, gourd bowling and activities with Audubon Vermont. A bird walk along the River Walk is scheduled from 9:30 to 10 a.m., meeting at Audubon's tent before the market.
The larger Rotary Park celebration is the following weekend, Saturday, Oct. 31. Children's activities and business trick-or-treating are scheduled from 4 to 6 p.m. Organizers plan to light the community-carved pumpkins at 6 p.m., with evening programming continuing until 9 p.m.
The pumpkins are scheduled to remain on display Sunday, Nov. 1, from 6 to 9 p.m. for a sensory-friendly evening without the music and crowds of the main celebration.
Organizers list free event parking in the Cascades Parking Garage, with vehicle access from Cascade Way. Community carving sessions are scheduled Oct. 27-29 at the Winooski Senior Center, 123 Barlow St. Volunteers are also being sought for the Oct. 31 celebration; volunteers younger than 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
Downtown Winooski's event page provides the full program and volunteer registration.
