Providence families considering Classical High School have two remaining entrance-exam dates on the district's October schedule, with eligibility for each session tied to the student's circumstances or current school.

The district lists Thursday, Oct. 29, from 7:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. for students unable to test on Saturday because of religious observances.

Saturday, Oct. 31, at the same hours is listed for private, parochial and charter-school students, along with students at Esek Hopkins Middle School and Times 2 Academy Middle School.

The official calendar's expanded Oct. 31 event listing identifies Classical High School, 770 Westminster St., as the location. It says the in-person admissions test is for interested eighth graders who live in Providence.

Students with extended-time sessions are scheduled to be dismissed between 2 and 3 p.m., according to the notice.

The Oct. 24 session was assigned to students at DelSesto, Nathan Bishop, Nathanael Greene, Roger Williams and West Broadway middle schools. The remaining dates are not described as an unrestricted makeup option for anyone who missed that session.

The calendar does not explain late registration, individual testing assignments or accommodation approval. Families needing those arrangements should confirm them with their current school or the district before attending.
