Providence Public Schools will hold a free online workshop for parents on school safety and emergency procedures from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 22.

The district calendar lists the session for families at all grade levels, presented by the Operations Office. Topics include what to do during an emergency at a child's school, safety rules for students, school-specific procedures and ways families can help.

The session is part of Parent University, the district's family education program. The program page says workshops are free for Providence Public Schools parents and that Spanish translation and interpretation services are provided.

Families can join through the Zoom link on the Parent University page. For information or language-access questions, contact the Office of Family and Community Engagement at 401-456-0686 or face@ppsd.org.

The calendar also lists an Oct. 26 online session from 6 to 7:30 p.m. about understanding and supporting the learning of children with autism.
