Connecticut bars and restaurants must close when clocks first reach 2 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 1, even though the time then moves back to 1 a.m., the Department of Consumer Protection said Oct. 30.
The return to standard time does not provide an extra hour of alcohol service after Halloween celebrations. The department says sales, consumption and the presence of alcoholic beverages must end at that point, and customers must leave.
The Liquor Control Division reminder applies to Connecticut establishments.
Questions about a Connecticut liquor permit holder can go to dcp.liquorcontrol@ct.gov or 860-713-6210. The division also accepts complaints online.
