Connecticut is receiving another $15 million in federal reimbursement for roads and bridges damaged by the August 2024 storm in western Connecticut, Gov. Ned Lamont announced Oct. 22.

The money reimburses the state Department of Transportation for road and bridge repair costs it has already paid.

The award brings announced Federal Highway Administration emergency funding for the storm to $43 million. Connecticut previously received $3 million in September 2024 and $25 million in October 2025. The governor's office estimates transportation repair costs at $51 million.

Work is still ahead on three bridges in Oxford and Southbury. Those projects remain in design and are eligible for federal emergency relief, according to the governor's office.

The reimbursement replaces money the state transportation department has already spent, freeing state funds for other projects, according to the announcement.
