Champlain Housing Trust started construction Oct. 9 on Shale Beach Condominiums, a five-story building with 30 homes for sale in Burlington's Cambrian Rise neighborhood off North Avenue.

All 30 would be sold through the trust's shared-equity program, which limits resale gains to keep homes affordable for future buyers. The trust expects prices of $175,000 to $210,000, according to its construction announcement.

The building is planned with 20 two-bedroom homes of about 1,000 square feet and 10 three-bedroom homes ranging from 1,344 to 1,408 square feet. Each would have one underground parking space, according to the project page.

The trust lists household income limits from $69,850 for one person to $115,750 for six people. Prospective buyers should check the project page for current eligibility requirements and application information.

Federal tax incentives through the New Markets Tax Credit program are expected to cover about 20% of the cost, the trust said. Burlington is contributing $900,000 through its Housing Trust Fund.

The trust anticipates buyer selection in early 2027 and completion, with owners moving in, by the end of that year. It has not set a buyer-selection deadline. The announced prices and dates remain estimates.
