Leo Anzivino Jr., 35, of Falmouth, Massachusetts, pleaded guilty Oct. 13 in federal court in New Hampshire to one count of money-laundering conspiracy, the Justice Department said. Prosecutors say he was the owner on paper of Advanced Medical Supply Corp. of Rochester, New Hampshire, which billed Medicare more than $6 million for medical equipment that patients did not need and doctors did not prescribe.
He is scheduled to be sentenced Jan. 21, 2027, and faces up to 10 years in prison. The case, No. 1:25-cr-00053, is assigned to U.S. District Judge Landya B. McCafferty, according to the court docket.
According to the department, Anzivino agreed to be listed as owner of Advanced while his co-conspirators were the real owners and managers. The company billed Medicare for items such as knee and back braces and backed the claims with fake orders from doctors who had not written them, the department said. Beneficiaries sent boxes of equipment back to the company with notes saying they had not ordered it and calling it a fraud or scam, the department said.
Anzivino was listed as owner on Medicare enrollment paperwork and falsely certified to a New Hampshire bank that he was the sole owner of 25% or more of the company, the department said. At a co-conspirator's direction, he tried to move more than $1 million from the company's New Hampshire account to companies tied to that co-conspirator. When a bank employee said the bank was not confident those companies were legitimate, he opened an account at another bank with branches in Massachusetts, the department said.
After learning that Medicare would revoke Advanced's billing privileges, Anzivino wrote in messages to another person that he "ain't wiring" money to the co-conspirator, the department said. Over the next five weeks he wired $1,494,938.09 in three transactions. The government seized about $353,768.29 from Advanced's bank account in 2024.
