Four defendants have pleaded guilty to conspiracy charges in a case in which prosecutors say guns bought in New Hampshire were trafficked toward Canada, the U.S. Attorney's Office announced Oct. 9.
Conrad Oakes, 25; Tayson Terrance, 24; Ranonkwatseronhawi Gibson, 22; and Montana Cook, 27, pleaded guilty between Sept. 26 and Oct. 9 to conspiring to commit straw purchasing and to traffic firearms, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office. All four are residents of Akwesasne on the U.S.-Canada border, the office said.
Prosecutors said about 51 firearms may have been trafficked from New Hampshire through Vermont and New York to the Akwesasne area and then Canada. At least 10 were recovered at Canadian crime scenes, the office said.
Sentencing is scheduled for Feb. 16, 2027, for Gibson and Cook, Feb. 19 for Terrance and Feb. 23 for Oakes.
The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and Homeland Security Investigations led the investigation.
