Judge William Sullivan denied Lindsay Clancy's request for a not-guilty finding Oct. 1, ruling that prosecutors presented enough evidence for a jury to consider the murder charges arising from the 2023 deaths of her three children in Duxbury.
Clancy's trial ended in a mistrial after jurors could not agree on criminal responsibility. Medical experts offered conflicting testimony about her mental state, and Sullivan left the weighing of that evidence to a jury, WBUR reported Oct. 1.
The ruling is not a verdict finding Clancy guilty. As of WBUR's report, prosecutors were still evaluating whether to seek another trial and whether to pursue first-degree murder charges again.
A Nov. 2 hearing was scheduled at the Sept. 29 session, The Boston Globe reported.
