Maine residents with financial need who have completed a qualifying class can apply for a one-time scholarship of up to $1,000 to help pay college expenses.
Applications for the Gilda E. Nardone Scholarship are due Jan. 31, 2027, according to the University of Maine at Augusta, whose statewide New Ventures Maine program offers the award.
The award can pay tuition, fees, books and other expenses at a University of Maine System campus, a Maine community college or the University of New England.
Applicants must be Maine residents with financial need who have completed New Ventures Maine's My Money Works, My Next Career Move or Venturing Forth class. The University of Maine System's Financial Literacy Micro-Credential also satisfies the class requirement.
Recipients agree to work with a New Ventures Maine coach as needed through graduation.
Application questions can go to workforce development program manager Kelley Glidden at 207-621-3436 or kelley.glidden@maine.edu.
Application instructions are available from New Ventures Maine.
