Maine will hold an Oct. 28 public session focused on manufactured housing and local code enforcement as it prepares recommendations for the Legislature.
The session is scheduled from noon to 1 p.m., with online participation available through a registration link posted by the Maine Office of Community Affairs. The office also lists in-person participation for attendees at a code-enforcement training in Augusta.
The Manufactured Housing Program moved to the Office of Community Affairs in July. Its responsibilities include licensing manufacturers, dealers and installers, investigating complaints about licensees, and enforcing safety and sanitation requirements in manufactured-housing communities.
The review follows legislation directing the state to examine the Manufactured Housing Act. Recommendations are due to the Legislature by Jan. 1, 2027. A separate online session on a building-code study is scheduled Nov. 2 from 9 to 10:30 a.m.
The program's website provides session registration links and a complaint form.
