New Hampshire Fish and Game is urging hunters, hikers and other people spending time in the woods to wear fluorescent orange clothing as fall hunting seasons continue.
The department's Oct. 21 reminder recommends a bright orange hat, vest or jacket so other people can see the wearer clearly.
Josh Mackay, coordinator of the department's Hunter Education Program, reminded hunters to control the direction of a firearm's muzzle and identify both the target and what lies beyond it before firing. Hikers should stay on established trails and review the state's safe-hiking guidance.
The department links to current season dates and hunter-safety information.
