Windham County residents will tell stories from local life at two free performances in Newfane on Oct. 24 and 25, with a different lineup each day.

A Potluck of Stories: Windham County Remembers begins at 7 p.m. Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday at Union Hall, 5 Church St., just off Route 30. Donations to the Historical Society of Windham County are welcome, but admission is free.

The historical society invited stories and tellers from all 23 towns in the county. Organizers say the resulting programs represent many of those communities, with towns not represented by a story acknowledged during the two-part presentation.

The announced Saturday lineup includes Barbara Coleman, Charlie Marchant, Janet Lucier and Richard Marek. Sunday's tellers include Alan Bills, Jean Allbee, Mary McCoy and Roger Allbee. The event page lists the full lineups.

Annie Landenberger, Henriette Mantel and Kim Willis are producing the event as part of the nation's 250th-anniversary observance. The emphasis is on residents' personal accounts of their communities rather than a single lecture about the county.
