Providence taxpayers have through Oct. 31 under the city's listed grace period for the second quarterly tax installment of fiscal 2027.
The Tax Collector's schedule identifies Oct. 24 as the installment due date and Oct. 31 as the end of the grace period. The city sends annual bills and processes quarterly real-estate and tangible-personal-property payments.
Taxpayers can use the collector's official website to check an account or reach the online payment system. People whose taxes are paid through a mortgage escrow account should confirm how their payment is being handled rather than assume that a separate payment is required.
The remaining fiscal 2027 installments are listed for Jan. 24, with a grace period through Jan. 31, and April 24, with a grace period through April 30.
The city also offers electronic billing and email tax reminders. Signing up for those notices does not change a taxpayer's obligation to keep account information current or meet payment deadlines.
The posted schedule does not explain how a payment method's processing time affects a payment made on the final day. Because Oct. 31 falls on a Saturday, taxpayers planning a last-day payment should confirm receipt requirements with the collector before relying on a mail delivery or processing date.
