Rhode Island Commerce lists Oct. 16 for its next small-scale solar grant round and Oct. 23 for its commercial-scale round under the Renewable Energy Fund.
The fund provides incentives toward the upfront cost of renewable-energy projects. For residential solar, the installer applies on the homeowner's behalf, and the project must meet program requirements before funds are allocated and paid.
The fund is paid for through a charge on electric bills and payments from electricity providers under renewable-energy requirements, Commerce says.
Commerce's timetable lists enrollment and application closing on the same date for each October round. The agency labels the dates approximate and subject to change. Funding blocks can close on the listed date or when available funding has been reached.
Homeowners should distinguish this fund from the separate Renewable Energy Growth Program. Commerce says the two incentives cannot be combined for the same system.
Application documents and project requirements are posted on Commerce's program page.
