Vermonters can use a state-backed website to test their internet connection and view a map that the Vermont Community Broadband Board says aggregates results anonymously.

The board announced VT Speed Check on Oct. 6. The site combines a speed test, an aggregate results map and advice for diagnosing connection problems.

The board encourages residents to test at different times of day and on different days of the week. The board says more testing will show more about broadband coverage across the state.

The board says its website links to the tool and to a step-by-step video explaining how to use it.
