Vermont Tech Jam will bring a free career and technology expo to Hula, a coworking campus on the Burlington waterfront, Oct. 24, with recruiters, demonstrations and presentations aimed at job seekers and people exploring technical careers.
The event runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 50 Lakeside Ave. Free tickets are available through the organizer's website.
An 11 a.m. panel will bring together representatives of BETA Technologies, Hazelett and Rigorous to discuss manufacturing careers and the skills they seek in applicants.
At 1 p.m., Dartmouth professor Hany Farid is scheduled to discuss deepfakes, digitally manipulated media that can make people appear to say or do things they did not. The presentation includes questions from the audience.
Seven Days organizes the annual expo. Its site also lists a free job-search preparation webinar at noon Oct. 16 and drop-in resume reviews at Tech Jam.
