The Boston Licensing Board approved an all-alcohol license transfer for FUMO Beacon Hill on Thursday, Oct. 15. The board's documents list the address as 9 Park St.; Fumo's website uses 9 Park St Place and marks the restaurant "COMING SOON!". The board granted the transfer of the license, once held by No. 9 Park, to 9 Park St Restaurant Group LLC, doing business as FUMO Beacon Hill, with Luigi Fanini as manager and a 1 a.m. closing hour.
The board has approved two transfers of license LB-99417 since May 2025. On May 1, 2025, the board granted its transfer from No. 9 Park, LLC to Nine Restaurant Group, LLC, doing business as 9, and that filing described the premises as about 82 dining seats and a 10-seat bar in 4,091 square feet. Both transfers also pledged the license to the same entity, 9 PSR, LLC, and both list William G. Ferullo as attorney. The board's Oct. 15 minutes record the Fumo decision as "Granted" and note that Commissioner Ava C. Concepcion was not present for the items heard Oct. 14, when the transfer came before the board.
Fumo co-founder Steven Gallo told What Now Boston that the Beacon Hill restaurant would seat about 80 guests and serve the same menu as Fumo's New York locations, including a $14 weekday lunch pasta special. "Fumo has always been the go-to neighborhood spot in NYC for the simple reasons of quality, atmosphere, and reasonable pricing that allows guests to come on a weekly basis, and we hope to do the same in Beacon Hill," Gallo told the outlet.
No opening date has been announced. As of Friday morning, Oct. 16, Fumo's Beacon Hill page listed no hours, and the site's reservation system did not include the Boston location. What Now Boston reported that the restaurant was expected to open in mid-fall, and Gallo told the outlet the group planned to seek outdoor dining permits. The transfer the board granted this week does not mention a patio.
