Voters using COAST buses in the Seacoast region or eligible Nashua Transit services can ride free to and from voting Tuesday, Nov. 3, but should plan the route rather than assume a bus stops at their polling-place door.

COAST says passengers need to tell the driver they are going to vote or returning from voting. The COAST notice posted on Rochester's city news site says the offer uses an honor system and cautions that the transit network does not directly serve every polling station.

COAST's route listings include connections among Dover, Rochester, Somersworth and Portsmouth. Riders can use its trip planner and schedules to check the trip and return service.

Nashua's Oct. 27 announcement covers CityBus and ADA Paratransit trips to or from polling sites in Nashua. Riders should tell the driver which voting location they are traveling to or from.

The Nashua waiver does not cover Demand Response passengers. The city also says bus riders must board at an NTS bus stop, because buses do not directly pick up or drop off at polling locations.

In the Seacoast, COAST asks riders on its ADA, Newmarket-Exeter Connector and Portsmouth Senior Transportation services to call TripLink at 603-834-6010 for details. It cautions that limited capacity may require alternative travel times.
