Connecticut officials will present the state's greenhouse-gas inventory through 2024 at a public online meeting of the Governor's Council on Climate Change on Nov. 12.
The council's meetings page schedules the session from 2 to 3:30 p.m. on Zoom. The Department of Energy and Environmental Protection will also discuss progress on reducing emissions and preparing for climate effects.
The inventory measures gases that trap heat in the atmosphere. It covers 2024 because that is the most recent year with available data, according to the notice. The meeting announcement does not disclose the new totals.
Residents can register through the notice. Anyone wishing to speak can email deep.climatechange@ct.gov by 5 p.m. Nov. 10 or sign up through the Zoom chat during the meeting.
Written comments for inclusion with the meeting minutes are due to the same address by 5 p.m. Nov. 20. Requests for communication or language assistance can go to deep.accommodations@ct.gov or 860-418-5910.
