Chef Bill Taibe is opening hi'Amba at 33 Jesup Road in Westport, with executive chef Karen Nicolas and pastry chef Michael Finehirsh.
The plan is an all-day bakery, cafe, restaurant, and market, with a working bakery and casual cafe downstairs and an upstairs dining room for shared plates and wine. The flavors draw on the Eastern Mediterranean, North Africa, and Southwest Asia. Dinner is planned a few weeks after opening. The restaurant's site still said "Opening Soon" on Oct. 4.
