Massachusetts will hold a free online training Nov. 10 for local officials learning to use its new clean-energy permitting system, the Massachusetts Energy Siting Hub.

The Department of Energy Resources session runs from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., according to the training invitation posted by the Massachusetts Association of Conservation Commissions. The invitation provides a meeting link and says a recording will be available afterward.

The hub, known as MESH, tracks projects from early filings through review and, when applicable, appeals. The training covers accounts for local-government representatives, how to review and approve filings and alerts about projects in their own and neighboring communities.

Developers must use MESH when applying for local or state permits through the new consolidated permitting process.

The invitation says applicants must upload documents, including decisions and permits, to MESH. Local officials are encouraged but not required to use it. It is free, and the public can use it to follow projects.

Questions about the session can be directed to Clean Energy Siting and Permitting Division Director Rick Collins at rick.collins@mass.gov.
