Providence is seeking two spruce or fir trees for its holiday displays, with nominations due Nov. 7.
The city's call for submissions asks for a tree 35 to 45 feet tall for the steps of City Hall and one 15 to 20 feet tall for the Providence Rink.
Rhode Islanders can nominate a tree by emailing a description and photograph to Allison Barry, the city's cultural affairs manager, at abarry@providenceri.gov.
The Parks Department's Forestry Division will cut down and transport the selected trees at no charge to their owners. Stanley Tree Service will provide crane service, the city said.
The city has scheduled its tree-lighting ceremony for Dec. 5 from 4 to 7 p.m., with music, refreshments and family activities. More program details are expected later.
