The Breakers in Newport will offer a sensory-friendly trick-or-treat session Friday, Oct. 23, removing music and strobe lighting while retaining the decorations and treats.
That session runs from 5:30 to 6 p.m. The broader Halloween event continues Friday and Saturday, Oct. 23 and 24, but some arrival slots are already marked sold out on the Preservation Society of Newport County's event page.
As checked Oct. 20, the Friday 6 to 6:30 p.m. and Saturday 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. sessions are listed as sold out. The page also lists later sessions from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. both days. Check the live booking page for current availability rather than assuming those later entries remain open.
Advance tickets are required. Adults and children ages 2 to 17 are listed at $10; children younger than 2 enter free. Family-level Preservation Society members are listed at no charge. Every child must be accompanied by an adult.
Costumes are welcome, but prop weapons and pointed objects are prohibited. Organizers ask guests to bring a nonperishable food item for the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Community Center food pantry.
The event is at 44 Ochre Point Ave. The organizer lists ProgramRSVP@NewportMansions.org for requests to join a sold-out session's waitlist.
