The Community College of Rhode Island is collecting food, toys, hygiene products and pet supplies through Dec. 4 at its campuses in Warwick, Lincoln, Providence and Newport.

Community members can bring items to the main entrance security desk at any campus, according to the college's Oct. 28 Season of Giving announcement.

The food drive benefits the Rhode Island Community Food Bank and accepts nonperishable items without glass containers. Toys for Tots seeks new, unwrapped toys, books and games. A household and hygiene drive benefits the Martin Luther King Jr. Community Center, which serves the Newport area, while a separate collection supports the Hotel for Homeless Dogs.

Toy distribution is scheduled for Dec. 14-18 at the Knight Campus in Warwick. Families seeking help through Toys for Tots can find details on the campaign information page.

The college also lists blood drives Nov. 17 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Warwick and Lincoln campuses. A Good Night Lights gathering supporting children at Hasbro Children's Hospital is planned for Dec. 2.
